While the game had a long break between parts, I do think that we could explore a lot more with Joel Miller as a character than the second part of the game did. There was a spoiler warning so you Firstly, we would have The Last of Us 2, a.k.a. Ellie's story. The game would start off similarly to the original, with Joel telling Tommy about what happened at the hospital. Joel goes home to Ellie, sings his little ditty, etc. Everything goes roughly the same until you get to where Joel would die. For me personally, the worst thing about part 2 was that it failed to be as good as part 1, which was a high bar to clear. Part 1 was an A+, part 2 was more of a B-. Certainly not the worst game ever made like some people suggest. Joel was also the character that I most identified with, so losing him made it tough to continue. There were endless ways the game could have gotten rid of Joel, but the route it went left players with little closure, even by the end of the game. Needless to say, The Last of Us: Part 2’s decision to kill Joel so early on in the game is controversial, and there remains many reasons why this character deserved a better ending. Pedro Pascal has spoken about how Joel's fate might be handled in the second season of The Last of Us.The first season of The Last of Us follows the game's plot line very, very closely. While

Joel’s brother Tommy also has a hand in killing some of Abby’s friends in particularly messed-up ways. The guy who gets his brains blown out by Tommy’s rifle frankly got off easy .
